The Swedes have decided to build their first Casino in a lavish early twentieth century banqueting hall in the Kungsparken Park in Malmo. Kungsparken was opened in 1872 by the then Swedish king, Oscar the Second. The brand new 5,000 metre squared casino opened in December 2001 and has decided to take a very contemporary approach to the gaming world, with a mix of traditional games and a modern entertainment experience.

Open every day from midday to four o'clock in the morning, it is a veritable hive of activity throughout the week. At night you will witness a stream of beautiful people herding through the elaborate entrance with a thirst for Moet & Chandon. In the forecourt, a sprinkling of ashen-faced businessmen who have fallen foul of luck sit on the curb, with their dickey bows undone, hunched over a bottle of Mariestads (cheap Swedish beer), cursing the world that has burned them, and muttering incessantly of crooked croupiers and dodgy dice.

Apart from the wide range of games and entertainment on offer, there are also two bars, full of revellers and the people fate has smiled on, as well as disgruntled Scandinavians, staring blankly into their drinks and pondering their losses. A conference centre is also available, giving it a real Las Vegas feel, and there is also a private function area fully equipped for the hardest of parties.
