Using classical dance as a foundation with a Brazilian twist, Grupo Corpo weaves traditional culture and modern movement. Innovative and visually astounding, Brazil's premiere professional dance company Grupo Corpo will dance three performances at the Teatre del Liceu. Over thirty years old, the company's unique style by artistic director Rodrigo Pedemeiras combines ballet with contemporary and Brazilian dancing, making Grupo Corpo one of the most distinctive dance experiences brought to the theatre.
Grupo Corpo will demonstrate their powerful dancing in a double bill with performances of Bach and Parabelo. Choreographed by Rodrigo Pedemeiras with music by Marco Antonio Guimaraes, Tom Ze and Ze Miguel Wisnik, both combine athleticism and strength, ultimately celebrating the joy of dance.
