DAVID HOCKNEY: A BIGGER PICTURE, ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTS, 21 January 2012 - 9 April 2012 |
The British countryside has proved an inspiration for Hockney's work throughout his career, so it is fitting that this new exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts focuses on his portrayal of Yorkshire landscapes. This is not, however, a retrospective of Hockney's life work. Many pieces were created especially for this event, including huge, vibrant landscapes that fill entire walls.
Hockney moves with the times, and has always embraced the artistic potential of important technological developments. Throughout his career he has experimented with photocopying, photography and film, producing daring and innovative works of art. This exhibition displays his latest collection of drawings created on the Apple iPhone and iPad, which confirm his status as a truly modern artist.
Displayed within the magnificent Burlington House, the much-anticipated 'A Bigger Picture' offers visitors an exciting introduction to Hockney's latest, striking collection.

Thanks a lot

I hope 5 is the best rating. It was just so easy and hassle free to print out the voucher, present it at the Royal Academy reception and get in without any waiting around. The exhibition was brilliant, as I had expected.
I shall certainly use Divento again to book tickets to other events.

Great service from Divento and great exhibition.

Absolutely breath taking. Loved the fluidity of his current work and the successful ability to transport the viewer to the Yorkshire landscape. Didn't like the Sermon on the Mount work at all.
Found the botom cafe difficult to use (getting out from behind the long table and asking others to move) and was amazed by the price of a piece of cake! Tate wins on that score I'm afraid!

Well organised, interesting, very busy but timed tickets helped. Good staff, good value for money and clear gallery guide.
And collecting tickets from the desk worked well!

Really pleased to be able to get tickets at such short notice.
Managed to get in easily with no time restriction and no queue.
Exhibition was stunning and well worth the visit.
Excellent service from divento who phoned me back when tickets appeared unavailable on the internet.
Many thanks.

A fab exhibition and a great day out.
Ticket collection very simple despite a mix up at the begining.

It was great to walk past the long queue of hopeful people waiting to see if they would get in - we just walked in and picked up our tickets. Thanks for your good arrangements. The exhibition was stunning.
