MATILDA: THE MUSICAL, CAMBRIDGE THEATRE, until 9 September 2012

Anyone who has grown up with Roald Dahl's children's books will be familiar with the story of Matilda: a small girl with special powers, who takes on the terrifying headmistress of her school. Transformed several years ago into a hit film, this well-loved story has now hit the stage. Produced by the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company, 'Matilda: the Musical' has reached the West End after a sell-out season at the Courtyard Theatre.

The success of this production rests on its incredible musical score, which has recently been shortlisted for Best Stage Work in the 2011 British Composer Awards. Bursting with irresistibly catchy tunes and touching lyrics - but with a fair helping of black humour to keep the grown-ups happy - this production is the epitome of 'family friendly'. Just like the book, it will appeal to anyone who remembers what it's like to be a small child in an adult world.

Playing at the West End from autumn 2011, 'Matilda: the Musical' is certain to be another sell-out. Catch tickets while you can.

Sat, Wed: shows at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Sun-Tues, Thurs-Fri: shows at 7.30pm.

Suitable for children aged 6 and over.

Seven Dials, â?¨32-34 Earlham Streetâ?¨, London
