MAMMA MIA!: ongoing

Has it really been over 25 years since Abba proved to the world that the winner really does take it all when they won the Eurovision Song Contest and the hearts of a continent and beyond?? The infamous Eurovision (hosted annually by the even more infamous witterer extraordinaire Terry Wogan) has certainly been the stage to launch a thousand ?blips? in the world of singing stardom (remember Sonia? We?d rather not?her performance lauched a thousand quips), but for the fab four from Sweden it guaranteed them a place in pop history. They?ve just rediscovered a recording which was supposed to be the first single from their abandoned 7th album and the relic is going to be released, so apparently Abba are still going strong after officially splitting up years ago. To commemorate their longevity, and to say ?thank you for the music?, Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus?s musical Mamma Mia received its world premiere in London?s Prince Edward Theatre in 1999, and it?s now one of the West End?s most popular musicals. Closet fans from all around the globe are reapplying the blue eyeshadow in pride and flocking to see this extravaganza of all things Abba-esque, which features 27 of the band?s legendary songs (think: Money Money Money, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper). I feel like bursting into song?..?Who could live without it??, I ask in all honesty, ?what would life be ? without a song or a dance what are we?? Indeed. This musical?s catching. Grab it if you can.
