Europe's largest free, open-air festival caters to all ages and tastes, featuring a wide range of live music.
Normally over three June days (last weekend of the month), the Viennese leave their beautiful buildings and head to the island of the River Donau (also known as the Danube), to create a vibrant atmosphere in Europe's largest free, open-air festival.
Many world-famous artists have shown up since the establishment of the festival in 1984. If the numerous open-air concerts and performances tire you out, take a break and try some of the excellent food offered by local chefs. Numerous events for children complete the massive programme.
The full programme can be found on the event website from mid-May. Be prepared for long and exciting days and nights!
Address: Donauinsel, 1220 Wien
