Paul Cézanne painted nearly 200 portraits during his career, including 26 self-portraits and 29 of his wife, Hortense Fiquet.
The exhibition is laid out chronologically, allowing you to study the evolution of Cézanne’s work, focusing on the variations that appear in his style and method.
The works come from private collections and museums from around the world and include the remarkable portrait of Uncle Dominique, which dates back to the 1860s and the final portrait of Vallier, Cezanne’s gardener in Aix-en-Provence, painted just before Cézanne died in 1906.
