Don’t miss out on the Gallery of Modern Art in Palazzo Pitti, home to Italian art from the eighteenth century to the twentieth century.
The Gallery of Modern Art is located in Palazzo Pitti which is home to Italian art from the eighteenth century to the twentieth century. The art plays a key role because other artists study these pieces to learn about the techniques used. The collection was originally a mixture of the best pieces from the Academy of Arts and Design.
The museum displays paintings and sculptures by Morandi, De Chirico, Macchiaioli, and many more. While the emphasis is on Italian artists from the Neoclassical and Romantic periods, there are works by French artists as well.
No matter which work you are admiring, the detail will truly astonish you. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the gallery with a guided tour or on their own.
