Petit Palais, Paris

The Petit Palais was originally built to host the 1900 World Exhibition and is  now the Paris Museum of Fine Arts.

Designed by Charles Girault, the Petit Palais is made up of four wings which wrap around a tranquil courtyard garden and boast a gorgeous collection of murals, mosaics and stained glass within its walls.

Most people visit the museum to see a temporary exhibition but don't miss the permanent collection which includes works from the major cultural movements from Ancient Greece right up to the beginning of the First World War. With a mixture of paintings, sculptures and photos, often in the same room, the museum offers you a  taste of some of the best art from across the ages and mediums.
