This unique and fascinating exhibition focuses on the role poison plays in history, culture, science, medicine, crime and more. Through audio-visual and interactive displays, it explains the modern and medieval uses of poison, from Greek mythology to the animal kingdom, and draws attention to their fascinating ambiguity as some of these deadly substances have potential medicinal properties. It’s a slightly bizarre concept for an exhibition but it successfully manages to bring together history, cultures, and species with this one common link that perhaps you’ve never really given much thought to before.

You don’t need a seperate ticket for the temporary and permanent collections so be sure to check out the other science and anthropology exhibits at the Musée des Confluences. Another temporary exhibition ‘Lumière! Le cinéma inventé’ is open until 25th February 2018.
