The Workshops of La Scala are known as the Ansaldo Workshops.
The Workshops of La Scala are known as the Ansaldo Workshops. They are found in the former Ansaldo industrial plants in Milan. The 20,000 square meter building is separated into 3 different pavilions, each dedicated to an important figure in Italian theater.
The pavilions are dedicated to the costume designer Luigi Sapelli, the director Luchino Visconti, and the stage designer Nicola Benois. The facility has practice rooms, a stage, and thousands of different costumes.
The Scala Theater opened the workshops to the public through guided tours which gives visitors the opportunity to see all the work and effort that goes into putting on a great performance.
