La Maison Rouge presents, for the first time in Paris, an exhibition dedicated to the innovative artist Hélène Delprat. The exhibition includes a wide range of works by the artist -from video and photography to drawing and painting- in which the line between fantasy and reality is blurry, at best.
Delprat, born in Amiens in 1957, is one of the top artists of her generation, an integral artist in the broadest sense: she is videographer, plastic artist, documentalist, photographer and blogger. Her works have been exhibited in internationally prestigious venues such as the New York MoMa, the National Museum of Fine Arts of Taiwan, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the National Library in Paris, among others.
Delprat’s inspiration is as varied as her work: literature, cinema, online databases, press and radio give rise to a body of work permeated by issues of representation, memory and transmission.
