The museum dedicated to Johann Strauss is found at 54 Praterstraße, on the inside of the apartment is where he lived for more than seven years and where it seems he had composed the famous waltz Sul bel Danubio Blu.

The king of the waltz came from a family of composers.  His two brothers, Josef and Eduard, but more importantly the father Johann, composed music and was already well known during the time period.  His fame brought him around Europe and the world.

In his residence there are still instruments and the original furniture, together with many paintings and portraits of the famous Austrian composer.
