The “Haus zum blauen Karpfen”, literally the house to the blue carp, is a building dating back to the 18th century decorated by low reliefs and a picturesque carp sculpted on the façade.

The origins of its name must be from the woodworker teacher Georg Kärpf, that for many different years lived in this building.  The house was then rebuilt in 1824 and the façade was enriched by precious floral decorations and low reliefs from the Austrian sculptor Josef Klieber.

On the façade it is possible to also catch sight of the group of Amourettenfries positioned just above the entrance, while the famous carp, symbol of the house is found at the height of the first floor of this picturesque dwelling.
