Summer Exhibition 2018, The Royal Academy of Arts, London: 12 June 2018 - 19 August 2018

This is archived material. It is for reference purposes only.

The Summer Exhibition is set to be bigger and better than ever this year as the Royal Academy of Arts celebrates 250 years of the annual art show.

This is the largest open submission exhibition in the world, showing around 1000 pieces of art chosen from some 10,000 entries. Needless to say, there's plenty to see - and most of it is for sale. The art comes in all forms; you'll find paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and models created by amateurs, emerging artists, and even household names. No names are displayed with the art (through you can find them in an accompanying guide), so you can enjoy trying to figure out the calibre of the artist who has made each piece.

This year's theme is ‘Art Made Now’, which was chosen to accommodate the diversity of modern art and to complement the exhibition's democratic nature. There will also be a ‘Room of Fun’ dedicated to art that will make you giggle.
