BADHUIS THEATRE DE BOCHEL, AMSTERDAM: Daily

A polymorphous incarnation, the Badhuis Theater de Bochel hosts a plethora of activities and shows. Every Monday and Tuesday you can turn up and join in some Capoeira training to Brazilian music.

Wednesdays mean live jazz in a night born of trumpeter Kees Krako's talents. Fans of improvisational musical journeys will not be disappointed. A typical week progresses as follows - Thursdays are devoted to African drumming, while on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings audiences are treated to a mixture of dance, theatre (often English speaking) and music. Truly a Renaissance venue!

Once a public bathhouse, Badhuis Theater de Bochel boasts one of the biggest stages in Amsterdam. It became a theatre after conversion in 1986, brainchild of the actor/director Michael Manicardi. The interior retains its stylish art deco features, while the building itself, built in 1914, warrants protection from the Dutch Monument list.
