If you're looking for a traditional café in the Marais, the Café de Musées is a very good choice for lunch or dinner in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere.
In addition to the excellent daily suggestions (starters, mains and desserts), the restaurant has a varied menu in which you'll find old-fashioned French favourites such as Paris mushrooms stuffed with snails (€ 9.50), fricassée with frog legs and fresh herbs broth (€12), grilled steak with bearnaise sauce and chips (€ 24) or rabbit with rosemary and carrot and parsnip mash (€22).
Among the desserts, all homemade, the chocolate mousse with candied orange and homemade cake (€ 8), pear compote with cinnamon, lemon cake and spiced bread ice cream (€8.50) and the vanilla crèpes with salted butterscotch (€ 7.50) are worth the detour.
Excellent selection of wines (by the glass and bottle), spirits and aperitifs.
