Discover the Museum of National History and Art in Luxembourg. Visit the rooms full of archaeology and modern art.
Located in the heart of the old city, the Museum of National History and Art houses collections which include ancient and modern art, findings from archaeological excavations, objects and documents recording everyday life in the former Duchy of Luxembourg, weapons, coins and medals. Temporary exhibitions are also organised throughout the year.
Extension and refurbishment of the museum, including the old building, the glassed atrium and the new building which contains galleries for temporary exhibitions, has recently been undertaken. The Roman mosaic Homer and the Nine Muses, discovered at Vichten, is also on display in a special gallery, and three special galleries have been carved into the rock to display the museum's archaeological collections.
