The Prater, overlooked by the Riesenrad ferris wheel, is one of Vienna's most extensive parks and a favourite with the Viennese for fresh air and exercise. The park is composed of former water meadows and has a vast network of paths and avenues heading in every direction. It's a hotspot for joggers, skaters, cyclists and hikers of every kind.

Situated in the Leopoldstadt district of Vienna, the Prater boasts a good number of restaurants and bars. There is also an extensive funfair, with old and new rides alike for even the most demanding thrill-seekers. It is also possible to explore parts of the Danube by rowing boat.

The park's most famous landmark is its Riesenrad (ferris wheel) of The Third Man film. Its 20-minute ride provides breathtaking views of the city.
