St. Michael's Bridge, Ghent

St. Michael's Bridge is the ideal place for the most romantic, as well as a perfect location for taking wonderful photos.

The arched St Michael's bridge is made of stone and flows on the Lys river in the center of Ghent.

In place of the same in the past there was a turntable, but it was replaced by a stone arch in the early 20th century.

The current monumental bridge was in fact built in the period 1905-1909, after the creation of the post office building, both the result of the inventiveness of the architect Louis Cloquet.

In the center of the bridge there is a suggestive lantern with a bronze statue of San Michele next to it.

Wherever you look, the view all around takes your breath away and makes this place perfect for a romantic stroll or for taking great photos.
