Berggruen Museum, Berlin

A collection of modern-art classics, most-famous for displaying paintings by Pablo Picasso.

The Berggruen Museum is included as part of the impressive collection of the National Gallery of Berlin. The part of the collection featured here consists of works collected by German Art-Collector, Heinz Berggruen and includes fine-art pieces from celebrated artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Alberto Giacometti, Georges Braque and Paul Klee. The museum is most-famous for its permanent collection, ‘Picasso and His Time’ which is one of the most formidable Picasso collections anywhere in Europe. In 2005, the Berggruen added to this collection by adding Picasso’s Nu Jaune after purchasing the painting from auction for $13.7 million. This is of course available to look at alongside many other modern-art classics of the same era. The museum itself is located opposite the magnificent Charlottenburg Palace in the heart of Berlin.
