The only children's museum in Slovenia, drawing it's content from the past and the present and inviting future conjection, celebrating festivities and everyday life. Children are guided through the museum by Herman the Fox, the museum's mascot. Herman can be seen in the exhibition spaces, in the playroom, the gallery, the sweet shop - where will you spot him? Children can discover and understand the history of the area, and, rich in nostalgia, adults can rediscover the natural curiosity of childhood exploration.

Herman's Creative Workshops

Creative workshops are specially designed activity programmes with different contents, which expand and complement the cultural heritage, collection and museum exhibitions. Herman's creative workshops are intended for various age groups and they place the emphasis on active participation of visitors, who can express their creativity, innovativeness and their own views in and on various materials. We organise instructional, photographic, ethnologic and pedagogical creative workshops for all the family. They are conducted by museum animators, pedagogues, curators or external assistants.

Birthday Celebrations

In an interesting and colourful environment we organise two-hour birthday celebrations that you children will never forget. The celebration in the confectionery with Herman the Fox is accompanied by an amusing tour of the exhibition in the Children's museum Herman's Den. Children can express their playfulness in the creative workshops and by playing in Herman's Bank or at didactical spots.

The Children's Museum is part of the Museum of Recent History (MNZC).
