The Royal Academy of Arts hosts a solo exhibition of the internationally acclaimed performance artist Marina Abramović.

Marina Abramović, a pioneering performance artist known worldwide for pushing the boundaries of physical and mental endurance in her work, is showcasing her life's work in the first-ever UK exhibition. The exhibition includes live re-performances of her iconic pieces within the galleries.

Throughout her 50-year career, Abramović has invited audiences to experience her art alongside her. Her piece Rhythm 0 (1974) allowed visitors to interact with her however they pleased, resulting in a controversial moment when a participant held a loaded gun to her head. Her later piece The Artist Is Present (2010) at the Museum of Modern Art in New York encouraged viewers to confront their emotions as they sat in silence across from the artist.

Curated with Abramović's close collaboration, this exhibition features works from her entire career and offers visitors an intense and physical encounter with her art. Abramović herself will participate in talks and events surrounding the exhibition.
