Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia

The second largest art gallery in Spain, with works from the 15th to the 19th centuries, including rooms dedicated to the magnificent works of the famous Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla, as well as a room dedicated to Francisco de Goya.

The collection also features a massive collection of Renaissance paintings, as Valencia was the entry point of the artistic influences of this style in Spain. It is also one of the first museums of arts in the country. The museum covers various genres of painting from the 14th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

The Museum of Fine Arts building was originally the San Pío Seminary College, founded in 1683. In the past, the building was used as a military cadet academy, a charity centre and a military hospital. In 1946 it became the Museum of Fine Arts.
