Old Operating Theatre Museum, London

The Old Operating Theatre Museum is a family-friendly exhibition looking at the history of surgery, with the added attraction of a 19th Century operating theatre. Open to visitors all year round.

Discovered in the roof space of St Thomas' Church, this operating theatre was used in the 18th century as an extension of a hospital that surrounded the church. Herbs and surgical instruments are displayed and at weekends there are fascinating talks and interactive events, especially during school holidays, which provide both a unique and fun experience for all the family.
