The Royal Palace, Oslo

Currently home to Norwegian royalty, HM King Harald V and HM Queen Sonja, the palace is at the end of Karl Johans gate in central Oslo.

It’s surrounded by the Royal Palace Park, with its grassy areas, ponds and statues. The palace was built in the 19th-century and is neoclassical with the facade of stuccoed brick. There is the changing of the guard every day at 1.30 pm and on Sunday at 11 am there’s a service in the Palace Chapel, which is open to the public from late June until mid August.
