Within the ancient church of Saint Nicholas lies the Copenhagen Contemporary Art Center.
The Copenhagen Contemporary Art Centre is a unique venue definitely worth stopping by. What was the old church of Saint Nicholas has since been reconverted into an exhibition space, with a magnificent green tower that offers one of the most astonishing views of the city and its canals.
The center organises around five temporary exhibitions a year, focusing both on the international panorama and the Danish contemporary art scene, in a variety of formats: painting, sculpture, video art, performance and a long etcetera. Wander between its old wooden stairs and enjoy the contemporary art exhibitions on display, which provide a great contrast to the ancient building.
