If you’ve explored Barcelona, you’ll have noticed that there are many places where you can rent bikes and scooters. However, some of the central shops are overpriced, so make sure to check out Rental Scooter Barcelona. They offer bike, scooter and even rollerblade rental at some of the most competitive prices we’ve found (for 24 hours you can rent a bicycle for just €12, lock and helmet included). It is a little further away from the city centre or Barceloneta, but only a ten-minute walk from Ciutadella Vila Olímpica metro station. This is actually a prime location if you wish to explore the coastline, which we highly recommend doing. If you cycle with the sea on your right, you’ll enjoy a particularly scenic ride and come across some little coves and beaches which are prettier and far less crowded. Platja de Montgat is a fine example (about 1.5 hours away), with beautiful clean sand and a distant view of the city’s skyscrapers. The staff are bilingual and very friendly. Make sure to take some ID to leave at the shop whilst you ride, or a €50 deposit per bike.
