The works by Picasso tell of the divergence of family, society and culture with his homeland. One of the most notable works in possession of the Foundation is Picasso’s sketchbook, containing rough sketches for his famous oil painting, “Las señoritas de Aviñon” (“The Young Ladies of Avignon”), the only example of this type of sketch, drawn in 1907, found in a Spanish collection.

The Foundation also boasts a broad collection of ceramics and a selection of original photographs taken by Juan Gyenes, depicting the final years of the painter’s life. If you wish to see some wonderful art and learn more about Picasso’s family background, a tour of this house will not disappoint.
