If you’re looking for very spectacular, unique jewelry, pop into this boutique/workshop between the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens, where Cristiano Pagnini who is a goldsmith, sculptor and jewelry designer sells his “works of art”.
He’s one of the few Italian master goldsmiths who still works using techniques which date back a few centuries. For example, he has restored the six metres high Tabernacle in the Cathedral of Cagliari in Sardinia and a solid gold Chalice for Pope Benedict XVI.
His jewellery has been described as sculpture and each piece is an individual creation. The detail of his work is astonishing: the minute engraved details on a gold bracelet, a delicate bracelet crocheted from 18kt gold threads, and a splendid ring with huge diamond encrusted prongs are examples the work you will see in his shop.
