Palazzo Strozzi, Florence: All Year

Located in the heart of Florence, Palazzo Strozzi is a great example of Renaissance style architecture.

Located in the heart of Florence, Palazzo Strozzi is a great example of Renaissance style architecture.  Commissioned by merchant Filippo Strozzi in 1489, the palazzo is now a central location for cultural events, exhibitions, fashion shows, and much more.

The palazzo was finally completed in 1538 and remained in the hands of the Strozzi family until 1937 when the Nazionale delle Assicurazioni took over and updated the building.  Thankfully, in 1999 the insurance company handed over the building to the Italian state.

Many exhibitions have taken place here such as Peggy Guggenheim Collection in 1949 and La Natura Morta Italiana in 2003.  Each year the palazzo hosts three major exhibitions.  There is also a permanent display on the history of Palazzo Strozzi.  With many sites to see, Palazzo Strozzi is a must see!
