Feeling peckish before or after visiting the Pitti Palace? Fortunately you can stop off here for light refreshments, or even a serious meal.
Although the food is not top notch here, the terrace (where you can sit in or out of the sun) has the enviable plus of being right opposite the Pitti Palace.
On cold winter days you can enjoy the cosy bar and dining room indoors. There is a terrific, value-for-money, fixed-price menu which includes a starter and a main course, with starters such as Panzanella, Farfalle Al Pesto, or Penne Al Ragu and main courses such as Tuscan Chicken, Caprese Salad, or Pork Loin. If you just want a glass of wine and a snack, go for the Bruschette Al Pomodoro (€9.50) with a glass of red or white wine (€5), a beer (€4) or an espresso (€3.50). This is also the ideal spot for an Italian breakfast: espresso plus freshly squeezed orange juice.
