Val sans retour, Paimpont

Meaning the Vale of No Return,  this area  is linked to the 12th century story of King Arthur and The Knights of the Round Table.

The Val is a land enchanted by Morgan le Fay, fairy sister of King Arthur, a place where she would imprisoned her unfaithful lover.and then many more knights who have been untrue to their ladies. Her spell was eventually broken by Lancelot, who has always been loyal to Guinevere, who freed all the knights but was then himself captured by Morgane for the first time. Lancelot, due to his loyalty, was the knight to break the spell and free the unfaithful lovers, but he was then captured by Morgane. The valley has a “fairy lake”, a Golden Tree and is carved into magical purple rock, bringing the legends to life.
