Located 14 kilometres away from Corfu town, Ýpsos (also referred to as Ipsos) is the most commercial town along the north west coast of Corfu.
This coastal resort merged with the village of Pirgi in recent years because of the strong growth of tourism. Ýpsos beach is a mix of pebble and sand and there are organised water sports like scuba diving, skiing and parasailing. The harbour also has organised boat trips to secluded beaches. Along the beach are many English pubs and restaurants which are very busy in July and August, which is high season. Ýpsos also has cafes which look out onto the Albanian and Greek mountains. Behind the town are walking trails covered by olive groves that take you to Corfu town.
