Head to Chez Grand-Mère for a delicious and cosy meal, where they serve a combination of French classics and lyonnais specialities.

Vieux Lyon’s cobbled streets are filled with picturesque restaurants and traditional lyonnais bouchons serving delicious French delicacies, and Chez Grand-Mère is a good example. With stone walls, low hanging lights and a fireplace (head straight on downstairs as soon as you enter), you really feel like you’re at grandma’s cosy cottage for a hearty and delicious French meal, especially when you see the restaurant’s logo. The menu is slightly cheaper than a lot of the bouchons in Vieux Lyon, but true to form it offers a combination of traditional lyonnais specialities and typical French classics: the three course lyonnais set menu is €18.90 and the special Menu de Grand-Mère is €26.90, both offering a choice of dishes to pick from. If you prefer not to go for the set menu, a few favourites are French onion soup (€8.90), beef bourguignon (€14.90), chicken in a St Marcellin cheese sauce (€12.90), or with ravioli for vegetarians (€13.90). For dessert, Divento recommends the pink praline tart (€6.50), which is a unique speciality from Lyon.
