On Rue Mercière you can find a handful of lively restaurants and bars but, to try some of Lyon's best mussels and fries, stop by La Cabane.

Rue Mercière, less than 10 minutes from Bellecour, is filled with a variety of charming restaurants - traditional lyonnais bouchons, seafood, sushi, family hamburger joints - as well as several bars around the corner. One of our favourites is La Cabane, with its decently priced and delicious menu, cosy wooden interior plus friendly staff. Their most popular dish is moules frîtes (mussels and fries, €13.90) accompanied by a choice of different sauces (the roquefort one is particularly tasty), paired with a glass of white wine for a classic French meal. If you’re not in the mood for mussels then opt for one of their charcuterie (€5) or cheese platters (€5.90), or tartines (€5.80) which are crisp bread slices topped with either smoked salmon, cured ham, goats cheese and several other options. And for dessert they have all the French favourites, such as crème brûlée, mousse au chocolat, and a tart of the day (€4.20).
