Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (ruled c.1332-1323 BC). The 1922 discovery of his tomb by Howard Carter received worldwide press-coverage and sparked a renewed universal interest in ancient Egypt.
A series of black-and-white photographs document the thrilling moments of the discovery of his tomb, and the archaeological and historical research procedures that followed. In the centre of the room we can take a close look at some of the artefacts found in the tomb one of the most important pharaohs in ancient Egypt, giving us an insight into their beliefs and what was most important to them.
