Letna Park, Prague

Home to the Prague metronome and some of the best views the city has to offer, Letna Park is located just over the river from the Old Town.

Letna Park is an urban park overlooking the city. If approaching from the city centre, you will have to walk up a long set of stairs, on top of which is a bar with a rewarding view of the city centre and river Vlatva. You will also see the 75-foot metronome swinging on top of the hill, which replaced a statue of Stalin which used to look over the city until it was demolished in 1962, during the Prague Spring.

While Letna Park is not the most impressive park in Prague, it does offer unrivalled views of the river and the city and is conveniently located near to the city centre. The park is also home to a beer garden amongst the trees, as well as the Hanavský Pavilion, a neo-baroque restaurant and cafe on the edge of the park.

The park, particularly the area around the metronome, is a favourite spot for young people in the city, who skate, hang out or party there most nights during the summer.
