Landi Castle, Bardi, Emilia Romagna

This was once the seat of power of the Landi family, a powerful, noble family from Piacenza who acquired the castle in the 13th-century.

It looks very different today, as the Landis transformed this military fortress into an elegant manor. From the main hall, stroll through the Princess’ Halls, a series of rooms where you can admire the late Gothic coffered ceilings and intricate wall paintings. From one of these rooms you can descend into the beautiful hanging gardens, or if you fancy a more unusual experience, you can visit the castle’s Museum of Poaching and Traps.
