Castle of Monastero Bormida, Monastero Bormida (Asti), Piedmont, Italy: All year

A medieval castle in Northwest Italy with an impressive 27 metres high tower.

In true medieval fashion the castle is still only accessible by a Romanesque bridge, which immediately takes you back to the castle and town’s long history. The castle dates back to 1050, and was originally built as an abbey church. Explore the intact Romanesque bell tower, the extensive towers, the medieval layout of the exterior, the mosaic flooring and the delicate frescoes of the castle's interior.
