Church of St. Ignatius, Prague

The Church of St. Ignatius, with its Early Baroque architecture style, is one of the most dominant sights in Prague New Town’s Charles Square.

Built between 1665 and 1671, the Church of St. Ignatius is perhaps the most impressive building in Prague’s New Town. Furnished with lavish Baroque decoration, mostly coming from the 1770s, the church’s interior is one of the most extravagant in the whole city. The church, considered the third greatest Jesuit complex in Europe, is devoted to St. Ignatius of Loyola, the patron saint and founder of the Jesuit order.

The church can be found on the eastern edge of the Charles Square.
