The Absintherie, located just off Prague’s Old Town Square, is a bar, shop and museum dedicated to traditional Czech absinthe.

The Absintherie is an essential stop for anybody visiting Prague who wants to try absinthe in the traditional style. The bar serves absinthe in many styles, such as the French method of running water through a spoon of sugar into the drink; mixing the absinthe into cocktails; and of course the Czech method of setting the drink on fire and letting it caramelise in your mouth.

The shop sells absinthe-based memorabilia, such as bottles, gift sets and absinthe fountains.

The absinthe museum documents the history of the drink and displays famous bottles. It is is perfect for tourists who still see absinthe as a cheap way to get drunk to get to know the real history, culture and tradition behind the drink.
