The Zizkov Television Tower’s contrast to Prague’s traditional skyline makes it stand out as a relic of the Communist era.
Located in the alternative neighbourhood of Zizkov in Prague 3, the 216 metre Television Tower towers above Prague’s traditional skyline, and can be noticed across the city. The tower has been part of many magazines’ and blogs’ lists of the ugliest buildings in the world, and due to it being built over an old Jewish graveyard by an unpopular late Communist government, it is not looked upon favourably by the Czech general public.
The tower may not be beautiful, but the views from the restaurant and 360° observation cabins are some of the best in the city.
