Museum of Communism, Prague

Prague New Town’s Museum of Communism provides a snapshot of what Czechoslovak life was like under Communist rule.

The Museum of Communism in Prague paints a picture of what everyday life was like for Czechoslovakians, particularly the people of Prague, in the latter half of the 20th Century. It also covers the history of Communism in the Czech Republic all the way up to the Velvet Revolution, where a peaceful protest liberated the Czech, and Slovak, people.

The museum has a range of pictures and panels in Czech and English, as well as a collection of everyday relics from Communist-era Prague, including vehicles, sportswear and mock-up children’s bedrooms.
