A former defensive castle turned luxurious stately home.
The Lombards built this defensive fortress at the highest point of Sant’Agnelo dei Lombardi in the 10th-century and in 1076 the Normans turned it into a castle.
Its hilltop position makes it perfect for defending the surrounding area. Then in the 16th-century, renovations began to turn it into a home fit for nobles.
