The true essence of Warhol on exhibition at the Victorian Complex. To celebrate what would have been Andy Warhol’s 90th birthday, this exhibition traces the extraordinary life of one of the most acclaimed artists in history with 170 of his works.
Curated by Matteo Bellenghi the exhibition starts from the origins of Pop Art in 1962 when Warhol began using screen printing to create the Campbell's Soup series, having bought canned soups from the shelves of supermarkets. These were followed by the series on Elvis, on Marilyn and on Coca-Cola.
The exhibition summarises the incredible life of a character who has changed forever the connotations, not only of the art world but also of music, cinema and fashion, tracing a new path that radically changed any previous definition of aestheticism.
