Picasso and the Publishers Gustavo Gili, Exhibition, Picasso Museum, Barcelona: 23 November 2018-24 February 2019

This is archived material. It is for reference purposes only.

For the first time,  the Gili-Torra archive on Picasso, is being exhibited,  highlighting the relationship between Picasso and the Barcelona publishers Gustavo Gili.

The archive itself, which was acquired by the Picasso Museum back in 2014, documents the painter’s relationship with Barcelona, particularly during the final decades of his life, as well as his friendship and working relationship with the publishing couple Gustavo Gili and Ana Maria Torra.

The archive has provided the museum with new artistic material, and it has also brought a fresh perspective of Picasso’s creative processes and his printmaking craft.
