The stimulating exhibition that demonstrates the impact of the Street on identity, daily life, discussion and creativity.
MAXXI displays over 200 works in THE STREET. Where the world is made and offers a visual experience consisting of re-used citylights, posters, videos, photographs and architectural projects. The visitor will walk in a world with manuals of how to quit facebook, objects from everyday life, made-up demonstrations and photographs of surrealistic and weirdly shaped cars.
The exhibition is curated by Hou Hanru, the artistic director of MAXXI, and the curatorial team. The Street is well organized, which cannot be said about all streets in our world, and follows different themes such as public actions, the community, innovation and the institutionalized society. Some of the featured artists are Monica Bonvicini, Alfredo Jaar and Leopold Kessler. We also encounter works of the famous architect Le Corbusier in "Rethinking the city" and Andy Warhols photograph and creation on the wall "Cars by artists".
The Streets is a non-stop organism that connects humans together, shapes communities and at the time an explosive exhibition at the MAXXI museum.
