Julian Rosefeldt shows his MANIFESTO at Palazzo delle Esposizioni.

German artist Julian Rosefeldt pays homage to the artist manifestos of the 20th century, when artists were questioning their role in society. Rosefeldts installation includes 13 screens at Palazzo delle Esposizioni and all of them tells a different story.

The work was shown for the first time in 2015 and features the Australian actress Cate Blanchett, who impersonates different figures, one of them a homeless man, another is a newsreader and many more. Blanchett becomes the voice of manifestos of Futurists, Dadaists, Fluxus artsits and other artist movements. Rosefeldt puts together several texts that appear in contrasting contexts.

MANIFESTO is displayed at Palazzo delle Esposizioni until the 22nd of April 2019 in Rome.
