The solo exhibition at the Espais Volart in Barcelona will feature around 200 works by Spanish painter José María Guerrero Medina.
"My commitment" is a monographic exhibition dedicated to Guerrero Medina (Jaén, 1942), a proposal devised and directed by Antoni Vila Casas and Medina himself, which brings together about 200 works, highlighting the most significant works of each creative phase of the author.
The figure is the conceptual axis that acts as a transversal factor between the different exhibition sections, seen as his true commitment, where the connections established have a base, a social and human background that allows for a dialogue between yesterday and today. While we will also find works inspired by nature, the artist himself acknowledges that the figure is his real commitment.
The exhibition is structured around four thematic axes: "Denounce Art", "Exiles", "Fragments of Memory" and "Painting Velázquez".
